Andyax
The Andyax YouTube channel is in many ways our playground. We take you behind the scenes, test out new technology, try out creative techniques, all while teaching our audience (400,000 followers) how to make film and video. Here we show a mix of behind-the-scenes from real productions, and small projects we want to make or test out ourselves.
One step ahead
The film industry is constantly changing technologically, and we get the chance to explore this through creative productions for our YouTube channel. Sponsors give us their latest equipment, and we make videos where we use and talk about it. That way we get access to new technology, and their brands are introduced to the world.
One example is the video below. We built a futuristic sci-fi street in our studio and used virtual production and focus trackers from HTC to film a scene. The green screen was replaced with a 3D world (Unreal Engine), and live keying (Blackmagic Design) let us see the finished result in real time.

Making a film company
In our popular series Making a Film Company the audience gets to know us better as a production company. The series started in 2019, and after 28 episodes we are now in season 4.
Each episode has an average of 52,000 views, and covers everything from when Anders gathered his friends to start the company, to when we got a new office, built a studio and bought our first camera.
The series has been a great inspiration to many and is used, among other things, as teaching material at several universities, including in the US. We believe the honesty, the sharing of experience and stories that are relevant to others are part of the reason for its success.
Major collaborations
Through the channel we have collaborated with several of the biggest brands in the industry, including Nikon, Aputure, SmallRig, DJI and DZO. Often it is they who reach out after seeing our content, and the collaborations have given us broad experience in making commercials that engage and build brands.
In 2024 we even developed our own product together with SmallRig: SmallRig X Andyax Creator ToolKit, a complete toolkit made for filmmakers.
See how we took the product all the way from idea and planning to production and launch, including the set we built for the commercial.
The story behind it
The channel was started by our creative producer Anders over 15 years ago. The name came from a gaming username Anders had as a teenager. Eskild Fors was Anders's closest partner on the channel, and Thomas Leypoldt composed the music. Listen to the soundtrack here. The focus has always been to share filmmaking experience in a fun way and inspire others to make film.
After several good years (including a crowdfunded film, "The Camera Hack", and several viral videos) Andyax took an abrupt turn in 2017 when Eskild passed away. The memorial video about Eskild got 100,000 views over a single weekend, and the words of support from followers were a big part of the reason Anders wanted to continue the channel.
The next big highlight was the launch of VJUS and the series Making a Film Company. Since then the videos have taken us along on countless projects and shown both highs and lows, mainly behind-the-scenes and experimentation with various film gear.

We take you along on a test shoot where we film a fiction scene with colored lights in focus.
In 2022 the whole team traveled together to South Africa. Together with Insta360, everyone competed to make the best video with their 360 camera.
Join us on a commercial shoot, this time for a new gimbal from Zhiyun. We show how we plan and carry out the entire production.
